Do you enjoy drinking beer? Many people do, but how much do most of us really know about different types of beer and the brewing process? A local brewery tour is a good way to find out more.

There’s nothing better than sitting in a great pub and drinking a great pint of beer. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon or an evening, surrounded by friends.

It’s a special feeling - enjoying a great drink when surrounded by our company of choice. Many of us will have a favourite beer, or at least a favourite type of beer.

How many of us are actually aware of what makes our favourite drink taste the way that it does? Can we actually distinguish the individual ingredients.

Enjoy a Local Brewery Tour

Touring a local brewery can be fun and also a great learning experience. Find out about how beers are brewed and you’re sure to take even more enjoyment the next time you sample a beer.

Living in the UK, it’s clear that the drinks marketplace has faced increasing competition from imported wines. Wine seems to be the choice of drink for many more people. It has a continental feel and sometimes seems more upmarket.

These emphasis on wine is disappointing for many. The UK continues to produce many of the world’s finest beers. If you’ve been unable to spot them then you might like to consider that they could be right under your nose!

posted on June 6, 2008 in Uncategorized

Spring’s here!! Even though it hasn’t felt like Spring the last couple of weeks, it’s May 17th and summer’s just around the corner…I hope!

Now’s a good time to start sampling and selecting some favorite summertime style microbrews and craft beers to enjoy during the upcoming sweltering hot months. My wife was kind enough to bring home a local Pennsylvania microbrew from our friends at Troegs Independent Craft Brewery out of Harrisburg, PA. This microbrew is none other than Troeg’s Dreamweaver Wheat Beer one I’ve somehow never tried before).

Anyway, I wasted no time in cracking open the 12 ounce chilled bottle and poured Dreamweaver Wheat agressively into my 14 ounce pilsner glass which just happened to be the only clean beer sampling vessel in the cupboard at the time.
