posted on September 19, 2008 in Uncategorized

Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Company has announced a September 15 release date for its Haystack Hefeweizen in 22 oz. bottles. Previously only available on draft, the brewery is releasing Haystack Hefeweizen as the initial offering featuring completely redesigned labels for all of their bottled products. According to brewery sales manager David Siegel, “Haystack Hefeweizen will be the only Washingtonmicro-brewed bottled hefeweizen available year-round.”

Named for the “Haystack,” the 300 foot summit of Mount Si, a Snoqualmie Valley icon, Haystack Hefeweizen is a classic unfiltered American-style wheat beer handcrafted from 60% malted wheat, two-row pale and Vienna malts, and finished with noble German hops. Haystack is fermented with an American ale yeast strain that imparts a spicy, citrus aroma and clean, mellow flavor with subtle yeast overtones. As an unfiltered hefeweizen contains live yeast in the bottle, it is important to gently re-suspend the yeast prior to serving.

posted on June 6, 2008 in Uncategorized

Spring’s here!! Even though it hasn’t felt like Spring the last couple of weeks, it’s May 17th and summer’s just around the corner…I hope!

Now’s a good time to start sampling and selecting some favorite summertime style microbrews and craft beers to enjoy during the upcoming sweltering hot months. My wife was kind enough to bring home a local Pennsylvania microbrew from our friends at Troegs Independent Craft Brewery out of Harrisburg, PA. This microbrew is none other than Troeg’s Dreamweaver Wheat Beer one I’ve somehow never tried before).

Anyway, I wasted no time in cracking open the 12 ounce chilled bottle and poured Dreamweaver Wheat agressively into my 14 ounce pilsner glass which just happened to be the only clean beer sampling vessel in the cupboard at the time.
